Sr. Principal Radio Frequency Engineer

• Create unique solutions for complex problems. Be a technical lead for a cyber/EW convergence program; work with vulnerability researchers and computer network operations developers• Execute in a fast-paced, small team environment through all phases of the hardware life cycle from conceptual development and detailed design through manufacturing, qualification testing, and post-delivery support.• Conduct RF analysis and test events to capture results and draw new conclusions on the art of the possible• Support resolution of technical issues that are discovered during the manufacture and test of deliverable hardware.• Troubleshoot board-level issues, assessing failures for root cause, and identifying corrective actions.• Understand and model the theoretical operation of RF systems and balance tradeoffs of multiple characteristics to reach an optimal design. 


Required Skills and Experience

• Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering or related discipline• Minimum of eight (8) years RF engineering experience• Ability to manage projects and consolidate technical reports, competence in understanding, prioritizing, and delegating requirements• Demonstrate expertise with radar and communications principles.• Hands-on laboratory experience with instrumentation, test equipment, and debug/test methods including use of network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, power meters, etc.• Experience and/or working knowledge of:• Knowledge of common modulation methods such as BPSK, QPSK, QAM, etc.• Developing exciter, transmitter, receiver and antenna subsystems, COTS equipment integration• Modeling, simulation, design verification testing, and characterization of RF circuits• Design, test, troubleshooting, and manufacture of analog/mixed-signal electronic circuit card and/or integrated RF assemblies• MATLAB and/or Python experience simulating radar and communication signal processors• Demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment.• Lead and/or perform system design/analysis, SWaP analysis, and procurement. Demonstrated experience with the design and implementation of power amplifiers, low noise amplifiers, mixers, filters, signal synthesis, PIN diode switching, and analog-to-digital conversion in complex Radar, EW, and communications systems across several high frequency bands (L-band, S-band, C-band, X-band, Ku-band, Ka-band). • Knowledge of and ability to perform cascade analysis of Gain, Noise Figure, Noise Power, Intercept Point, output power, etc.• Knowledge of the design and performance characteristics and limitations of amplifiers, oscillators, mixers, filters, etc.• Interface with the customer and provide presentations, lead/perform trade studies and design reviews, and lead RF oriented test activities.• Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to effectively interact with customers.
