Senior Security Engineer (Firewall)

We are seeking a Senior Security Engineer (Firewall) to add to the team in support of the United States Postal Service's Cybersecurity program. The successful candidate will experience an unparalleled large-scale enterprise environment with over 800 Information Technology systems, 10s of 1000s of servers and desktop devices, processing billions of dollars in annual revenue and supporting a diverse user base spread across the entire US.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will provide support of firewall operations, management processes, and leading practices. Will review existing firewall rules for compliance, efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in an Information Technology or relevant field. • 3-5 years of advanced experience in Firewall implementation and management in an enterprise environment. • Experience with network firewalls and rule configuration for Cisco devices • Good communication skills in dealing with Telecommunications engineers and business owners. • Ability to consult with other members of project team and develop requirements documentation. • Review firewall rule sets and log analysis for inefficient, unneeded and unapproved rules. • Research problems and recommend solutions to improve firewall security. • Support a nationwide implementation of firewalls (Validate, test, and manage firewall rules). • Familiarity with network discovery tools (e.g. RedSeal). • Experience with ServiceNow Change/Incident/Problem management.

Desired Qualifications:

• Certifications (one or more) preferred: CISSP, Certified Ethical Hacker (C|EH), SFCP, GCIA, ISSEP, ISSMP, GCIH, GCFA, CSLC, CISM, CCNA, CCNP • Project planning experience • Excellent writing skills • Microsoft office suite of applications • Ansible and/or other scripting/automation experience
