Overview

A NAVAIR program office has a requirement for Senior Engineers to support the engineering tasks required for the development, production and sustainment of major weapon systems, and their associated support systems, across their lifecycle. 

Job Description

• Lead the execution of complex tasks, to apply and integrate engineering principles, to investigate, analyze, plan, design, develop, implement, test and evaluate military weapons systems.
• Review and prepare engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation.
• Apply engineering experience to perform functions such as system integration, configuration management, quality assurance testing, or acquisition and resource management.
• Analyze designs, develop, implement, test, or evaluate automated data processing software related to engineering or functional requirements of military weapons systems and associated support systems.

Qualifications  

Basic Qualifications:

• Education:
  • Master’s Degree in an engineering, science or a related technical discipline.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree and four (4) years of experience may be substituted for the MA/MS.
  • An Associate’s Degree and four (4) years of experience may be substituted for the BA/BS.
  • An additional eight (8) years of experience may be substituted for the BA/BS.
• Experience:
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in an engineering position.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of the ten (10) years in an engineering position must be directly related to Navy or Marine Corps systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in an area of engineering expertise.
• MINIMUM CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Secret. Upon award, must have at a minimum, a Department of Defense (DoD) National Agency Check (NAC) or equivalent and an Interim Secret Clearance.

Additional Qualifications:

• Secret clearance desired
• NAVAIR acquisition program office (PMA) or engineering competency experience desired.
