Huitt-Zollars has an immediate opportunity for a contract full-time Quality Assurance (QA) Inspector with seven years experience in Contract Administration and Quality Assurance for submittals and payroll reviews of project. This full-time contract position is for 1 year with 2 year possible extensions, and the job site location is Shreveport - Bossier City, Louisiana.
Responsibilities:
- Provide day to day quality assurance of construction covering (mechanical and electrical work) to determine compliance with contract documents
- Document construction site activities and QA inspections daily in electronic format using Resident Management System (RMS)
- Construction status reports covering work progress, work quality, safety compliance, observed deficiencies, work corrective actions, and general site conditions such as weather (Documentation must be thorough, concise, clear and grammatically correct).
- Understand and enforce the USACE 3 Phase Inspection System (Preparatory, Initial, and Follow-up Inspections)
- Daily communication and coordination of quality control and quality assurance responsibilities and concerns with the Contractor's Superintendent and the Construction Quality Control (CQC) staff is required.
- Perform independent assessments of the construction contractor's CQC system plan and field implementation and effectiveness and be able to report deficiencies and short falls to the USACE Project Engineer in a clear and concise manner.
- Maintain a Deficiency Tracking System for assigned projects in accordance with program office procedures and assure that required Quality Assurance verification tests are performed and documented.
- Review contractor's as-built drawings at a minimum of once a month to ensure drawings are being maintained and updated correctly
- Review and monitor the Contractor's schedule and the monthly pay application for accuracy
- Review and monitor the Contractor's submittal register for; completeness, timeliness of submissions, and compliance with contract requirements
- Review shop drawings, submitted to the USACE (Government) for compliance with contract requirements within time limits and recommend acceptance or rejection to the Government's Contracting Officer Representative.
- Maintain accurate and up to date contract reference documents on site, incorporating all pending changes, contract modifications, Request for Information (RFI), and clarifications
- Perform closeout and warranty execution responsibility to include ensuring all necessary documentation provided
Requirements:

Ability to obtain a CAC card is required
- Seven years QA Inspector work experience
- Knowledge of USACE's RMS system a plus
