Combination City Driver / Dock Worker (Spokane)

Job Requirements

Combination City Driver / Dock Workers must be able to perform all of the duties of a city driver and a dock worker.

  • To operate various tractor-trailer combinations or straight trucks between Company terminals or yards and customer facilities or work sites; to sort, handle, load and/or unload freight at Company and customer locations in a safe, efficient, and timely manner.
  • To efficiently sort, handle, and load and unload freight into and from over-the-road equipment, containers, city trailers and/or straight trucks in accordance with oral and written instructions, as well as federal and state regulations.

    In order to become a YRC Freight driver, you must:

  • Have one year experience driving similar equipment in various traffic and weather conditions.
  • Be age 21 or over.
  • Have a record of safe and competent driving as demonstrated on a state Motor Vehicle Record.
  • Have a valid Class A CDL with doubles/triples, Hazmat and tank endorsements.
  • Be willing to work any shift and day of the week.
  • Have the ability to record applicable freight information on Bills of Lading and match back to the freight bill.
  • Pass DOT pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • Have reliable transportation.
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 55 lbs. from floor to above shoulder and horizontally and carry objects up to 100 feet. Occasionally lift up to 70 lbs. Seldom lift up to 100 lbs.

    • Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic computer skills in order to record applicable freight information on bill of lading.
  • Experience operating a forklift.
  • Experience in the transportation industry.
