We are conducting a search for a Cloud Security Engineer to add to its team in support of the United States Postal Service's Cybersecurity program. The successful candidate will experience an unparalleled large-scale enterprise environment with over 800 Information Technology systems, processing billions of dollars in annual revenue and supporting a diverse user base spread across the entire US.
Responsibilities:
- The successful candidate will architect, develop, and support security solutions in a multi-vendor hybrid cloud environment (Azure, Google Cloud, etc.).
- Support transition of large-scale on-prem solutions to the cloud environment.
- Provide guidance on policies and procedures related to cloud transition.
- Focus on boundary protection (Firewall, Intrusion Detection, etc.) solutions and their migration to a virtual/cloud environment.
- Provide lessons learned and industry best practices applicable to cybersecurity solutions in a hybrid cloud environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in an Information Technology or relevant field.
- 3-5 years of advanced experience in cybersecurity solution implementation, related to boundary protection.
- 2+ years of cybersecurity solution implementation experience in a hybrid cloud environment.
- Hands on experience with on-prem to cloud migrations.
- Experience with virtual firewalls.
- Experience with software defined networks.
- Good communication skills in dealing with Telecommunications engineers and business owners.
- Ability to consult with other members of project team and develop requirements documentation.
- Research problems and recommend solutions to improve security in a hybrid cloud environment.
****Candidates must be able to obtain a Postal Sensitive Clearance (US Citizenship or Green Card required). Additionally, candidates must not have traveled outside of the USA for a combined period not to exceed 6 months within the last 5 years.***
Desired Qualifications:
- One or more cloud environment certifications (Azure, GCP, AWS) related to cybersecurity.
- Project planning experience
- Excellent writing skills
- Microsoft office suite of applications
- Ansible and/or other scripting/automation experience
