Tactical Training Support Jr -- Pendleton

JOB TITLE: Tactical Training Support Jr


The TECOM Training Support Center provides unit training/exercise design expertise and assistance to the operating forces, recommends the sequencing of use and optimizes integration of TECOM training systems and capabilities ISO Force Generation Process Phase II, III, and IV training, and provides contractual technical oversight of fielded live training systems IOT accomplish effective and efficient TECOM support to Home Station Unit Training. All TSC sites assist MCB O&T in the optimization of live ground home station training and training systems by: assisting with training capability employment, planning, programming and resource analysis; and with unit training and exercise support. This includes range utilization planning and analysis, range sustainment coordination, as well as exercise planning, design and scenario support, Training Objectives, Mission Essential Task Lists, task linkage to exercise concept and product development to support exercise framework (i.e. setting, threat event focus, Intelligence products, scenario thread development). The TSC additionally provides exercise resource integration and training execution, exercise control products / assistance (Master Scenario Event Lists, threads, narratives, and evaluation checklists) and After Action Review (AAR) products. The TSC’s conduct theater specific threat research and coordination to tailor support products and assistance for units scheduled to deploy into a specific geographic theater or assume a mission specific readiness responsibility.


  • Facilitate exercise scenario design and the development of training objectives for company and below.
  • Facilitate linkages to METL, T&R manual and PTP throughout all training.
  • Facilitate the incorporation of training systems and training enabler's within the live, virtual and constructive training environments.
  • Analyze physical training resources IOT enable improved training and optimize support to base Operations and Training.
  • Coordinate Operations and Support requirements and execution of designated training systems.
  • Where appropriate manage complex ranges in support of base operations and training.


  • 5 - 8 years of experience as a SNCO/NCO in a USMC ground combat company
  • Experience conducting or receiving a full pre-deployment training program
  • Current operational experience (deployed in Afghanistan or Iraq w/in the last 5 years)
  • Understands training at the company / platoon level
  • Proven ability to clearly and concisely convey information, either orally and/or in writing, to individuals or groups to ensure that they understand the information and the message.



  • 1 - 3 years’ experience as an individual and unit training specialist
  • Experience in ground combat or operational intelligence military operational specialty
  • Understands and can support command training efforts through strategy, standardized processes, and management tools provided by TECOM
  • Effectively work with stakeholders to prioritize requirements against resources and make trade-off decisions that directly map to training readiness
  • Be performance-focused, accountable to achieve the training goals and objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate information to individuals or groups; delivers presentations suited to the characteristics and needs of the audience.
  • Listens and responds appropriately to others
