Surface Ship Superintendent - Engineering Tech Lead

This position requires a self-starter who understands C4I shipboard installations with the ability to work with minimum supervision and be a team player.  This position requires strong communication and verbal skills for communicating with ship forces, vendors and peers.  Looking for a candidate who can work under pressure, multi-task, and work in fast paced environment.  Duties will include providing support services for East Coast shipboard installations in the areas of scheduling, status reporting, de-conflicting converging efforts of other agencies and contractors other than SPAWAR. Candidate will review and make changes to installation drawings. Position may require OSIC responsibilities when 2nd or 3rd shift is required.  Position may require occasional reporting for 2nd or 3rd shift. Provides the SAWAR AIT Manager with on-site installation management oversite of shipyard and other installation contractors and tradesmen.  Candidate liaisons between the SPAWAR OSIC and the SPAWAR AIT Manager to adjudicate issues for workflow, installation drawings LARS for shipyard and Planning Yards.  Attends Production Meetings, develops and maintains installation POA&Ms.  Will make decisions on the deck-plates to deconflict issues that slow production.  Makes high level recommendations for red-line drawings and develops LARS.  High School diploma. Navy background preferred. 10 years of direct experience installing and managing installation teams for large and complex C4ISR systems and equipment onboard all classes of US Navy ships in both public and private shipyards. Direct experience managing daily deck plate operations and installation teams for periods of time lasting up to 6 months. Knowledge and experience with non-electrical components that support C4ISR programs including structural, cable, electrical, piping, and HVAC modifications. Strong background in testing and troubleshooting electronic circuits, and interpreting electronic block wiring diagrams. General knowledge of shipboard communication and LAN systems. Ability to read communication system installation drawings, and cable run sheets. Familiar with NAVSEA TECH SPEC 9090-310 (X).Knowledge of HVAC systems as the relate to C4ISR support systems. OSHA Maritime 10-hour course VSRA certified. Certifications will include Electrical Connector Fabrication and Fiber Optic Fabrication.
