Supportive Housing Case Manager Hiring Fair

DESC Supportive Housing Case Manager Hiring Fair

Date: Wednesday, August 30, 2017

Location/Time: To be determined/ Starts at 8:30am

Are you passionate about serving those who are most in need? Are you committed to working for your fellow citizens? Are you a believer in working towards creative and innovation solutions for clients with vexing problems? If so, please apply to attend our Behavioral Health Clinical & Housing Case Manager Hiring Fair.

Most DESC housing residents live with challenges that would seem overwhelming or insurmountable to the average person: mental illness, drug and alcohol addictions, HIV, physical or developmental disabilities, and extreme poverty. In most cases, they are not affected by just one of these conditions, but are multiply disabled and have long histories of homelessness or frequent failures in other low-income housing settings. To increase their opportunity for success, residents in each of our housing programs work with case management staff on a wide array of functions, including goal planning, care consultation, assistance with basic ADL's, individual counseling, and group facilitation.

DESC invites you to apply today for a chance to attend our hiring fair! Qualified applicants who are invited to the hiring fair have the opportunity to take a tour of a DESC Project, Learn about what makes DESC unique, and Participate in a Q&A with staff members. All attendees have the option of joining a group interview as well!

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

  • Relevant Bachelor's degree in a social or behavioral science required; MSW or other relevant master's degree preferred.
  • Ability to meet state requirements for registration as a counselor.
  • Clinical experience working with homeless adults disabled by chronic alcoholism, mental illness and drug use.
  • Knowledge of local homeless, mental health, and chemical dependency service systems.
  • Two years experience working with homeless adults disabled by chronic alcoholism, mental illness and/or drug use is preferred.
  • Valid Washington State driver's license and insurable driving record is strongly preferred.
