Senior Virtualization Engineer

JOB TITLE: Senior Virtualization Engineer


The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Strike Systems Program Office (AFLCMC/WWS) conducts planning and acquisition of cost-effective, long-term, critical capabilities in order to support the war-fighting mission of the combatant commanders.


  • Design, install, configure, and maintain virtualized server environments to include Storage Area Networks (SANs) with equipment from multiple vendors for both single domains as well as private cloud hosted domains.
  • Manage relational databases to include Access, SQL, and Oracle.
  • Design, install, configure, and maintain Microsoft SharePoint to include creation of workflows and office automation tasks.
  • Implement DoD and Air Force Technology regulations, services, and instructions to ensure communications and computer services are in compliance with applicable regulations and instructions.
  • Develop network Standard Operating Procedures, and implementing audits, threat and vulnerability assessments, and applying security-related software tools to manage and control classified information systems.
  • Manage the configuration of classified information systems.
  • Manage Multi-Level secure networks and automated cross-domain security solutions.
  • Upload and download files across classified networks operating at different classification levels, and controlling and recording all incoming and outgoing digital media.
  • Resolve information systems security incidents with senior leadership.
  • Support all aspects of AFLCMC/WWS Strike Systems IT systems management to include planning, design, acquisition, installation and set-up, testing, accreditation, fielding, support, and disposition of IT equipment, components, and software.
  • Plan, schedule, coordinate, install, update, and accomplish day-to-day administration for software and hardware on multiple classified networks.
  • Manage IT network equipment to include switches, routers, and both basic and advanced configurations of firewalls.
  • Configure and troubleshoot Video Teleconferencing and Voice over IP telephone systems.
  • Support analysis and testing to ensure equipment and software additions and upgrades are compatible with existing infrastructure.
  • Optimize the function and performance of network hardware and software to ensure IT system availability, integrity, efficiency, and reliability.


Security Clearance: Top Secret/SCI

  • TOP SECRET clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) eligibility and background investigation within the last six years.
  • Relevant Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 10 years’ experience maintaining IT systems.
  • DoD 8570 Information Assurance Management Level II certification, or equivalent.
  • Experience with classified information systems in a Special Access Program (SAP) and/or SCI environment.


  • Four years of classified information systems experience working on DoD ACAT programs.
  • Master’s Degree.
