Senior Configuration Engineer/Sr. IT Specialist

 

Our client is a recognized Information Technology solutions provider. Founded in 1998 and based in Reston, Virginia, it is a CMMI Level 3 Certified company with an established reputation for excellence and on-time delivery with a consistently high customer satisfaction rating from its Federal Government and private consulting contracts. They are currently seeking a full-time professional and experienced Senior Configuration Engineer/Sr. IT Specialist to join their on-site client-facing team in Washington, D.C. JOB DESCRIPTION • Develop and implement source code configuration strategy and policy. Branch and merge source code; establish procedures to effectively manage the functions of change control; and configure and maintain software baseline library using Rational ClearCase.• Support development and maintenance of Configuration Management Reports to document changes and updates to development, test, and production environments for each build, sprint, and release in the iterative development lifecycle.• Generate Configuration Management Reports including CDR code changes resulting from changes to CPE systems, CDR code change that impact CPE systems, CDR code changes that impact other ACA projects, ACA project code changes that impact CDR, Code changes from defects and Change Requests, Linkages and dependencies for all changes.• Review Build hand-off and IRS VDD documents. REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE • 5 years with IBM Rational tools UCM ClearCase, ClearQuest and experienced in integrating them to include strong skills in Rational ClearCase implementation for code merging, check-in, check-out, versioning, and administration• 8 years working experience with Software Configuration/Change Management process and methodologies• 5 years with CMMI and Agile/Scrum processes• 5 years with IBM CLM tools such as RTC• 5 years with software build tools and scripts such as Ant, Jenkins or Maven• 5 years with scripting such as Perl, PowerShell, Python or Shell script• 5 years with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment with an in-depth understanding of the SDLC for implementing Enterprise level systems including deployment procedures• 8 years demonstrated hands-on experience in Software Configuration and change management processes and implementation across different environments (Dev, Test, Prod)• 8 years demonstrated experience in creating and maintaining UCM and branches for multiple release management in Rational ClearCase• Strong communication skills and able to work across organizations• Proficient with MS Office Suite• IRS system, deployment and data knowledge experience• Healthcare system experience• Rational Team Concert REQUIRED EDUCATION • Bachelor’s Degree REQUIRED CLEARANCE • Permanent Resident or U.S. Citizenship required for MBI/ 58C Tier 2RS; Current Active IRS Minimum Background Investigation MBI/ 58C Tier 2RS clearance required.
