Project Coordinator II

Our client delivers premier information technology solutions to a portfolio of Federal, State and Local Government customers. They provide a variety of IT operations, cyber security, FISMA compliant hosting and IT logistics services as a core set of its offerings and supplies industry leading certified professionals with proven government and technical experience.

 

They are currently seeking a Project Management Coordinator II in Columbia, Maryland.

 

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

 

• Support the Project Management Office (PMO) management staff and other corporate business units.

• Gather, update and distribute periodic project status communications.

• Facilitate communications with customer project stakeholders.

• Provide initial level of project issue tracking and resolution for all assigned projects.

• Schedule internal/customer meetings, document meeting minutes and publish meeting minutes.

• Participate in project planning, execution, control and closure activities.

• Coordinate scheduled activities between various company departments.

• Ensure compliance with internal company policies and procedures.

• Update business workflow documentation and procedures as requested.

• Participate in project and operational quality assurance processes.

• Coordinate project deliverables, artifact signoff and necessary approvals.

• Participate in proposal development process.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

 

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

 

• Five years’ experience performing project administration/support activities.

• Excellent Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Meeting Facilitation, MS Project skills.

• Excellent organizational, task tracking and follow up skills.

• Ability to work with aggressive project deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Must have excellent attention to detail, action oriented, able to deliver results.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills to all levels of the organization.

• Must be able to write procedures and related to position responsibilities.

• Ability to create and maintain positive and professional business relationships with both internal associates and external customers.

• Must work effectively in a team environment, multi-team setting, as well as independently.

• Must know how to provide a status on assigned deliverables.

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

 

 

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

 

• Basic understanding of modern information technologies (networking, application management).

• Basic understanding of project management methodology and principles.

• Experience writing and updating policies and procedures.

• Current possession of Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)® certificate or ability to pass certification exam within 12 months.

 

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION

 

Qualified candidates must have graduated from an accredited four-year college or university with a focus in Business Administration, Business Management, Information Technology or related field. Substitution of relevant experience for required education will be considered.
