Production Control Clerk/Safety Coordinator

Job Title: Production Control Clerk/Safety Coordinator   Where: USCG YARD, Curtis Bay, Baltimore, Maryland Pay Rate: DOE Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), Life & Disability Insurance Work Schedule: Full Time, Day Shift, Monday – Friday; may be required to work off shift or weekends Posting Date: April 19, 2018 Closing Date: Until Filled Skookum’s mission is “Creating Opportunities for People with Disabilities”. Applications of individuals with disabilities are preferred.* Description: Skookum, an award winning, non-profit organization seeks a Production Control Clerk / Safety Coordinator who will perform all functions necessary to maintain and en sure correct reporting of all maintenance activities and site safety data.

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Compiles and records production data from customer orders, work tickets, product specifications, and individual worker production sheets following prescribed recording procedures and using different word processing techniques.
  • Calculates such factors as types and quantities of items produced, materials used, amount of scrap, frequency of defects, and worker and department production rates, using a computer, calculator, and/or spreadsheets
  • Prepares written work schedules based on established guidelines and priorities using MAXIMO, SAMS, or other work control programs.
  • Compiles material inventory records and prepares requisitions for procurement of materials and supplies charts production using chart, graph, or pegboard based on statistics compiled for reference by production and management personnel.
  • Sorts and distributes work tickets or material and may compute wages from employee time cards and post wage data on records used for preparation of payroll.
  • Safety Coordinator duties include: Conducts in-house safety inspections and training; assists with accident and incident investigations; assists with employee suggestions; reviews individual job tasks; promotes safety internally and externally; provides training and assists with collecting safety documentation.

‚Äč Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Proficient in MAXIMO, filing, report generating, and all administrative task to assist in Contract administration.
  • Must demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy; planning and organizing; scheduling and monitoring.
  • Must be proficient in computer programs to include MS Word, Excel, Internet Explorer, and Maximo
  • Must have the ability to work effectively under pressure; perform problem analysis and possess problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to provide customer service in a professional and courteous manner.

Security Requirement: Must be able to pass a thorough background check. Must be able to obtain and maintain installation clearance and Common Access Card (CAC).
