Organizational Development Director

American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), a membership organization dedicated to the advancement of women's health care in Washington, DC, is currently seeking an Organizational Development and Culture Director who can cultivate an engaging and high-performing environment that can attract, develop, and retain talented, professional people. This position will require an individual who can create and execute learning and engagement strategies to improve inclusion and diversity while enabling a positive work-culture. The individual will also partner across Human Resource and other groups to ensure that their strategies and initiatives are incorporated across ACOG.


This team member will need to cultivate team satisfaction; facilitate internal and external meetings; provide general and morale status updates to senior leadership; organize workshops, seminars, and programs to identify and address issues; support employee development and training; and, serve as the company cultural ambassador.


The individual will need to possess superior interpersonal, communication, and consulting skills, and the ability to analyze ACOG's needs, collaborate with ACOG's teams and leaders, and execute practical solutions that enhance the experiences of employees at this organization. This person also will need to be highly organized and detailed-oriented, and to demonstrate a record of success and passion for developing and implementing programs of diversity, inclusion, and engagement.



  • Assess and analyze organizational needs on retention and engagement, and update or create policies, procedures, and programs to enhance employee experience and performance.
  • Develop and implement successful strategies/initiatives/programs to increase diversity, inclusion, and engagement at ACOG.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and inclusive work environment through initiatives that help retain and enrich talented, professional employees.
  • Leverage the necessary resources, tools, and techniques to create policies for cultural development and engagement and to measure progress and encourage success.
  • Collaborate and partner with the department leaders to understand their goals and to incorporate them into HR organizational strategies.
  • Develop and maintain communication mediums to promote employee awareness of initiatives/programs and policies.



  • A master's degree and 8 years of OD experience. CPLP and/or PCC/MCC preferred.
  • A demonstrated ability to multitask, probe, analyze and problem-solve issues with minimal guidance
  • Highly flexible and adaptable to changing structures and priorities
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Business acumen and the ability to work with other components to integrate human resources functions
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with staff at all levels within the organization
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to diffuse difficult situations.
  • Occasional travel to satellite offices may be required.
