Nurse Practitioner Mobile Unit

Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth is seeking a full time Board Certified, experienced Family/Adult Nurse Practitioner to provide health screening and education in a team approach mobile health environment at community and worksite locations. The successful candidate must be proficient in women's health, cardiovascular disease and cancer prevention and detection. The position provides opportunity to participate in program development in population health under evolving guidelines. Practices in an independent role under supervision of Medical Director. Family or Adult Nurse Practitioner Valid, unencumbered Texas Nursing License Board Certified in Specialty Has Prescriptive Authority Minimum 5 years' experience in Family Practice, Internal Medicine, and/or Adult Medicine Current Basic Life Support Strong physical assessment and physical diagnosis skills Phlebotomy skills beneficial Responsibilities of the position: Variable schedule, Monday - Saturday, days, 8 to 10 hour shift. Some local travel, personal vehicle not required Unique position that is highly independent, providing preventive health screening, health promotion, health education, and referral. Nurse Practitioner will care for an average of 9 to 25 patients daily and will travel in a Mobile Health Unit (motor coach) throughout Tarrant and surrounding communities, with the support of health team members, to provide cancer and cardiovascular screening exams for men and women. The community of patients is culturally diverse, and includes the underserved and insured. Supervising physician is available, but generally off site. Many opportunities are available for development and expansion of this health screening services program in the near future, providing strong job security and personal growth opportunities for the experienced candidate.
