Mid-Level Logistics Sustainment Engineer

Logistics Sustainment Engineer will provide program management and operations support to PMW 146 Logistics.  Provide supply chain management oversight, assist with timely resolution of ILS assigned trouble tickets, develop RAM metrics reports, manage MUOS GFE HW/SW/COMSEC and support configuration management.  Provide logistics subject matter expertise in support to a DoD Navy program office and assist with the development of program-level documentation and briefings.  Logistics Sustainment Engineer will provide program support to the senior leadership of a Navy Program Management Office responsible for Navy UHF SATCOM.  Apply knowledge of DoD systems engineering and Navy logistics processes to support clients in the analysis and execution of system sustainment processes, policies and procedures.  Proactively identify efficiencies and improvements, analyze options, recommend alternative solutions and assist with implementation.  Assist with responses to various data calls related to Navy sponsored projects.  Assist with drafting, creation and publishing of stakeholder engagement briefings, including PowerPoint, and Word documents.  Manipulate, extract, and update data and information in Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.  Participate actively in planning, coordinating and conducting meetings.  Identify program communications needs through feedback with an understanding of the audience.  Advise the client in matters relating to communication effectiveness and delivery techniques that enhance their efforts.  Prepare clients, and present strategic recommendations for events including relevant background material.  Apply excellent oral and written communication skills that reflect an ability to clarify complicated issues, transform technical subject matter into accessible and compelling copy, and target messages for diverse audiences.  Monitor and assist with the management of project activities to mitigate risk throughout the project life cycle.  Recommend risk reduction and mitigation approaches for improving acquisition and program planning, control, and execution.  Provide direct support to clients on a day-to-day basis and communicate status/updates. Perform other duties, as required.

 Designations/Certifications:  Active Secret Clearance is required.

 Knowledge:  Systems Engineering and Integration approaches and techniques.  Satellite Communications operations and logistics.  Possession of advanced, polished oral and written communication skills.  Ability to develop, edit and perform quality control of reports, presentations, directives, correspondence, and other documents.  Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

Demonstrated ability to be detailed, flexible and proactive; be able to multi-task, quickly adapt to changing client priorities, and respond to ad hoc requests.

 Experience:  At least four (4) years of demonstrated experience with preparation and maintenance of logistics documentation with the Department of the Navy.  Experience with knowledge management services that integrate filing and retrieval of reference documents, program generated documents and decisions, both in hard copy and soft copy.  Intermediate level life cycle logistics knowledge, skills and abilities.

Education:  Bachelor's Degree; 4 additional years of specialized experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree
