Manufacturing Motor Assembler

The Manufacturing Motor Assembler II must have a strong mechanical aptitude and expertise in the assembly of motors and controller boards. This role will assemble electro-mechanical equipment assemblies for environmental control systems using various methods/techniques as required. The Motor Assembler must also have strong troubleshooting and testing experience. This role is accountable for assembling, testing, and troubleshooting on average 6 motors and controller boards weekly.


Duties and Responsibilities:

85% Production and Assembly

o Replace or repair worn or defective mechanical or electromechanical assemblies, including but not limited to: bearings, brushes, brush holders, motor leads, gears, seals, impellers, mechanical switches, brakes, clutches, clutch rotors, tachometers, fans, end shields, etc.

o Assist other mechanics or other shop personnel in skilled or non-skilled duties as directed by the Production Control Manager.

o Complete documentation as needed during the assembly and after assembly process is finished.

o Performs quality checks as required to ensure adherence to quality standards.

o Able to operate specialized repair and testing equipment such as dynamometers and motor software.

o Work in a clean environment to prevent FOD (Foreign Object Damage).

10% building and troubleshooting test boxes and fixtures for other Production and Engineering assemblies and prototypes.

o Must be able to test electro-mechanical equipment to troubleshoot known or suspected problems using various methods.

5% Other duties as assigned

High school diploma or GED required.

Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment or mechanic experience required.

Experience in fabrication and aviation airframe strongly preferred.

Positive attitude and patience are a must for new assemblers learning the ACC way and work.

Strong mechanical and electrical mechanical aptitude required.

Demonstrated ability reading schematics, prints, drawings, etc for part assembly required.

Must have strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions.

Strong verbal and written communication skills required.

Self-motivated and able to work independently.

Aptitude to learn additional product lines that ACC manufactures.

Ability to pass initial and random FAA Drug/Alcohol screening requirements.

Ability to understand, perform and retain various skill related training and operational and safety procedures demonstrated by the Production Control Manager.

Ability to interact in a positive, respectful manner and maintain cooperative working relationships.

Excellent customer service skills for both internal and external customers.
