Managing Director, Individual Giving and Special Projects

Reporting to the Vice Chancellor, Institutional Advancement, the Managing Director, Individual Giving and Special Projects is responsible for strategy, planning, management, and growth of a team of major gift fundraisers focused on University-wide initiatives and priorities. As Managing Director, the incumbent is responsible for providing expertise, consultation, coaching, and direction to all fundraisers as well as cultivating and communicating a culture that promotes collaboration and effectiveness among all fundraisers. The Managing Director is also responsible for identified priority initiatives which includes developing and executing established objectives for all initiatives. The Managing Director is responsible for cultivating and maintaining an active portfolio of prospects in-line with University fundraising objectives.

Bachelor's Degree required, Master's preferred. Strong written and oral communication skills; must be able to manage professional staff and programs. Ten years of fundraising experience with management responsibilities. A qualified candidate will demonstrate a forward-thinking, strategic, and ambitious mindset as well as strong leadership skills, the ability to cultivate professional relationships, facilitate collaboration among diverse groups, engage key stakeholders, effectively communicate visions and priorities, and source funding commitments. Must exercise a high degree of flexibility and time management skills. Strong organizational and verbal and written communication skills required; strong interpersonal skills required.
