Human Resources Internship - (Part-time, paid)

Overview

We are looking for a Human Resources Intern for Multiquip Inc. to work out of our Boise, ID location. This will be a part-time (20-30 hours per week) paid internship. The Human Resources Intern will observe and learn the basic HR functions by receiving practical training from the HR Coordinator, HR Generalist and HR Manager. The individual will also provide support for various HR functions, including but not limited to the following:

Responsibilities
  • Recruiting:
  • Assist in the recruiting activities for the location
    • post Open Positions via Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
    • screening resumes,
    • setting appointments with candidates and managers, forwarding information to recruiters, etc
    • participate in interviews
    • Assist with Background Checks (Credit, Previous Employment, DMV, Criminal, etc.)
  • Assists with New Hire Orientation
  • Enters all of the pertinent information in Multiquip Inc.'s HRIS software – Workforce Now

 

  • Terminations:
    • Assist in the termination process and Exit Interviews

 

  • Leaves of Absence Management:
    • Assist in preparation of forms and notifications to employees who have been, or will be, absent from work for longer than 5 working days
    • Keeps employee's manager and HR Management updated on the status of employees who are on LOA's
    • Inputs data and track LOA's in HRB/WFN System and ensure that Payroll is kept current on employee leave/return-to-work status
    • Assist in weekly Covid-19 testing and case tracking

 

  • Performance Management Process:
    • Assist with the Performance Management Process during the year
    • Generates system reports and updates and resolves performance system problems/issues

 

  • Benefits:
    • Assist with Benefit Enrollment Meetings with New Hires (one month before effective date of insurance plans)
    • Assist with the Annual Insurance Open Enrollment preparation and implementation
    • Assist in benefit data entry into HRB/Workforce Now

 

  • Employee Files:
    • Maintain personnel and benefits files
Qualifications

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Pursuit of BA Degree in Human Resources desired
  • Prior experience with a manufacturing or distribution company is highly desirable
  • ADP Workforce Now experience is a plus
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as governmental regulations, safety rules, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of management and/or employees of the various Multiquip Inc. organizations regarding safety information topics.
  • Ability to resolve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations where only a limited amount of information may be available.

 

Computer Skills:

  • Must be computer proficient (Excel, MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)

COVID Vaccine Requirement:

      • Ability to sit, stand, walk and climb stairs as required by company site to perform daily work duties such as safety inspections, training, HRIS updates, etc.
