Fire Support System Capability Integration Subject Matter Expert (SME)

JOB TITLE: Fire Support System Capability Integration Subject Matter Expert (SME)


This position is contingent upon contract award.

The Capabilities Development & Integration Directorate (CDID) Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) Capability Managers (TCMs) coordinate and integrate doctrine, organization, training, materiel, leadership and education, personnel, and facilities (DOTMLPF) issues and materiel solutions across current and future Army organizations.


Possess the ability to effectively communicate conceptual ideas in writing and orally articulate thoughts to support the development of Army and Fires concepts, doctrine and tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs). Requires knowledge of Fire Support Tactical Data Systems and Fire Support Tactical Data System capability and organizations (knowledge reflects ten years’ cumulative FA experience).

  • Prepare written reports of analysis and assessments, and prepares and presents briefings to senior leaders.
  • Capture/document user required capabilities and gaps for CNAs, ICDs, CDDs, CPDs and/or other required JCIDS documents.
  • Develop briefings, prepare fact sheets, talking papers, decision papers and information paper in support of systems/capabilities; develop/update new system/capability TTPs.
  • Develop a monthly status report, prepare and submit significant activity reports and EXSUMs of key events to TCM Fires Cells. It shall contain as a minimum: purpose, place, dates, participants, decisions and tasking’s


Security Clearance: Secret

  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Master’s degree with 8 years of specialize experienced or bachelor’s degree with 12 years of current and relevant specialized experience.
  • Specialize experience is defined as working/practicing in Fire Support roles as a 13F/131A/13A (USMC 0861/0802/0803) and/or Joint Capabilities Integration & Development System (JCIDS) acquisition experience etc.
  • Two years’ experience in the development, review and staffing of FA related doctrine, documents and publications
  • 10 years cumulative operations experience in Field Artillery
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications
