Electronics and Software Engineer

JOB TITLE: Electronics and Software Engineer


The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center develops, tests, and fields Air Force aeronautical capabilities. Executing a significant budget, the AFLCMC conducts studies to identify new capabilities; transitions new technologies to operational platforms; executes demonstrations; and develops, tests, and fields new capabilities for the warfighter.

2. Work with operational users to define feasible, relevant requirements to support demonstrations and fielding of new capabilities.

  • Performs professional electronics and software engineering work in support of the acquisition, development, or sustainment of software for weapon systems, subsystems, and/or support equipment.
  • Plans and carries out assignments for projects concerning Systems Engineering and new Operational Flight Programs, switching from analog to digital systems, interaction with other engineering specializations, and consideration of the lifecycle of systems.
  • Conduct assessments of software deliveries for aircraft avionics and test equipment. Determine software design, viability, and integration with hardware; measure against program technical requirements and specifications; and prepare/coordinate documents for software certification.
  • Assess and audit DoD contractors for software configuration and control measures adequacy and verify appropriate quality accreditation.
  • Develop and review the overall system design baseline (architecture and interoperability requirements).
  • Assists in translating user requirements into system requirements, which will be used to design, develop, test and evaluate software for systems, subsystems and equipment for deployment.
  • Provide systems/subsystems integration support for the acquisition, development and verification of systems, software, and equipment.
  • Identifies problems and issues; consolidates engineering responses; and provides recommendations resulting in technical decisions or implementation of appropriate action based on consideration of system requirements. Develops deficiency reports and recommendations for acceptance or rejection of software deliveries.
  • Performs analysis and uses systematic, disciplined, quantifiable approaches to determine performance objectives, integration issues, and document system requirements.
  • Evaluates systems test plans and participates in the conduct of system, subsystem and component testing.


Security Clearance: Secret 

  • Bachelors Degree with 10 years of relevant experience
  • Secret Clearance with investigation within the last 5 years


  • Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Engineering Certification
  • DoD Acquisition Program Office experience.

WORK LOCATION: Tinker Air Force Base, OK
