Cybersecurity Engineer

This is a key position for a Cybersecurity Compliance Engineer - Lead.  Candidate will have experience conducting or participating in Navy Compliance Inspections.  Candidate will be responsible for developing a Cybersecurity Compliance Policy for MSC's afloat and shore assets, conduct compliance inspections, and report on deficiencies.   Position is in an office environment and aboard MSC Ships to conduct inspections.  Candidate will eventually assume supervisory function of 6 employees.  No heavy lifting required.

Responsible for an established patch management team, a C&A team team and an on-site employee as MSC monitoring spillage incidents.   Any task related to Cybersecurity effort in support of MSC, as directed by the Program Manager.   Responsible to the STF Program Manager and the Prime Contractor's Program Manager   Review and provide feedback on DoD information assurance documents, orders and instructions.  Develop Command level policies and procedures.  Strong inter-personal and communication skills are required to carry out this assignment with the ability to lead and work as part of a team.  Implement patch management of the Afloat networks IAW MSC SOPs.Supervise the production of SMIS patch disks as well as acknowledge, report, update and maintain the IAV baseline in VRAM as approved by the TPOC.  Supervised the production of COMPOSE patch disks from the IAV baseline extracted from the SPAWAR Program of Record (POR) owner data repository of approved patch disk sets as advertised by SPAWAR and approved by the TPOC.

Experience: Experience with data analysis activities to include: • Analyze fleet provided AR1, AR2, ACGV2, SMIS Mini, PPTSV3, ISNS/COMPOSE, and Program of Record (POR) shipboard scan data to determine validity prior to uploading into VRAM.• Verify success of scan and patch efforts through post scan report analysis conducted during ship visits.• Analyze AR1; AR2; ACG; SMIS; ISNS/COMPOSE and POR system configurations in relation to the accepted baseline configurations and identify root cause issues for systems resistant to patching.• Review and provide feedback on DoD information assurance documents, orders and instructions• Develop Command level policies and procedures.• Experience working with the DoD Information Assurance tools to include VRAM, eMASS, HBSS, and TWMS.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in information technology, experience is not a substitute for the bachelor's degree and ten (10) years minimum experience in the Information/Cybersecurity field. Military experience in this field is a strong plus.
