Cybersecurity Compliance Lead

The Cybersecurity Compliance Lead will have experience in conducting or participating in Navy Cybersecurity Compliance Stage I Inspections.  Responsible for developing and maintaining/updating a Cybersecurity Compliance Policy for MSC's afloat and shore assets, conduct compliance Stage Inspections, and report on deficiencies.  This is an office environment position, and aboard MSC Ships to conduct inspections.  The Cybersecurity Compliance Lead will have an established compliance team of support personnel. No heavy lifting required.  Travel is estimated to be 15%-20% and may include OCONUS.  Must comply with certification requirements identified in DoD 8570.01M for IAM Level III.  Cognizance of various DoD policies and regulations (e.g. 8500, 5200), and ability to interpret such policies and regulations as are provided to the MSC Afloat community.  Review and provide feedback on DoD information assurance documents, orders and instructions.  Develop Command level policies and procedures, relative to I, II and III Compliance Inspections.  Strong inter-personal and communication skills to carry out this assignment with the ability to lead and work as part of a team.  Responsible to the STF Program Manager and the Prime Contractor's Program Manager.

Designations/Certifications:  REQUIRED: Certified as IAM Level III IAW DoD 8570.01M.  REQUIRED: Secret Security Clearance.

Knowledge:  Information Assurance Vulnerability alerts and researching the IAVA/B/T occurrences within the following: 

  • Vulnerabilities and risks associated with Windows operating systems, Linux operation systems and components.
  • Vulnerabilities in incident reporting.
  • Experience with DoD certification and accreditation processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products to include Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Cognizance of various DoD policies and regulations (e.g. 8500, 5200), and ability to interpret such policies and regulations as are provided to the Afloat community.

Experience:  Experience in the Command, Control, Communications, and Computer Systems (C4S) field with both Government and industry programs and standards, and familiarity with Department of the Navy (DoN).

  • Experience working with the DoD Information Assurance tools to include VRAM, OCRS, eMASS, HBSS, and TWMS. 
  • Experience in conducting or participating in Navy Compliance Inspections.
  • Experience developing Command level policies and procedures.
  • Experience developing Cyber Security Compliance Policy. 
  • Experience with DoD certification and accreditation processes.
  • Experience as a team leader, project manager.
  • Strong inter-personal and communication skills to carry out this assignment with the ability to lead and work as part of a team.
  • Military experience in this field is a strong plus.

Education:  MINIMUM: Technical Training in Information Technology, Cyber Security. Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis in IT and Cybersecurity a plus.
