Connections Case Manager Supervisor (2094)


  • Supervise, schedule and evaluate half of the Connections Case Managers to ensure effective operation of the Connections program.
  • Provide information to a wide variety of individuals who seek assistance in the Connections Program.
  • Consult with other staff regarding cases and client issues.
  • Interact with client population and perform assessments on selected clients.
  • Maintain own caseload; develop plans and follow-up strategies for clients on caseload.
  • Contract with clients for services and activities to be performed.
  • Provide information/referral/advocacy services to clients on caseload, and others as appropriate.
  • Provide counseling, short or long-term, as determined by the needs of the clients.
  • Intervene in crises with individual client and in the general population of the facility.
  • Open the facility and prepare for the business day, and/or secure the facility for the night.
  • Work shifts as assigned covering milieu to maintain order and communication and enforce agency rules.
  • Cooperate with other programs and agencies in the social service system to provide good networking of client services.
  • Maintain service notes and files in an orderly, up-to-date manner.
  • Become familiar with local employment, housing and other resources.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Distribute bus tickets, maintain documentation relevant to bus ticket distribution.
  • Coordinate the schedule of community volunteers; work in conjunction with the Volunteer Coordinator to fill spots and address volunteer issues.
  • Provide additional consultation when Project Manager is not available.
  • Rotate to work a courtesy patrol shift occasionally, which includes walking around the outside entrances of program sites for the period of the shift to receive communication from community members and monitor uncivil or illegal behavior.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor's degree required; one in a social or behavioral science highly preferred.
  • Ability to meet state requirements for registration as a counselor.
  • Two years experience working with homeless, economically disadvantaged, mentally ill or chemically affected individuals.
  • Basic understanding of homelessness and various characteristics of homeless adult population.
  • One year relevant supervisory experience.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to work effectively with clients displaying a wide range of unpleasant and/or bizarre behavior.
  • Commitment to the philosophy of cooperation and continuity across agency programs and the philosophy of consideration and respect for clients.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish highly preferred.
