Administrative Officer

This is a senior-level administrative position serving the departments of Biological Sciences and Neuroscience. The Administrative Officer will serve as the strategic advisor to the Chairs in budgetary and operations matters, ensuring that all fiscal, student and faculty support, outreach and facilities matters are managed in a routine and effective manner. Creates and manages hard-money budgets, and serves as primary point of contact to central sponsored research administration staff. Responsible for all aspects of personnel administration for department-based staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation, and advises faculty supervisors on University policies/procedures for lab personnel. Represents the department to both internal and external constituencies and serves on committees at both the department and school levels. A minimum of a baccalaureate degree and at least five years of experience in increasingly senior administrative roles with demonstrated competency in financial management are required, along with strong interpersonal, writing, and communications skills, and a commitment to working with diverse populations.
