Sr. Accountant

Southwestern Health Resources Clinically Integrated Network seeks to hire a Sr. Accountant to work full time in their Finance Operations Department.

Please note: Southwestern Health Resources Clinically Integrated Network (SWHR CIN) is an affiliated company of Texas Health and UT Southwestern. If hired for this position, you will become a SWHR CIN employee rather than a Texas Health or UT Southwestern employee.

Salary range is Min. $32.85/hr. to Max. $51.48/hr. – based on relevant experience

Job Description:

Under general supervision the Senior Accountant is responsible for financial statements on a monthly basis.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform monthly financial statement closing procedures, ad-hoc account analysis, and review of account activities to maintain accuracy in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and in compliance with the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
  • Prepare consolidated financial statements as well as implement recommendations for new statement presentations.
  • Responsible for the compilation and timely filing of quarterly reports with the CMS.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required Or
  • Master's Degree preferred
  • 5 years relevant experience to include public and private accounting experience. Familiarity with GAAP and preparation of financial statements. required
  • Texas sales tax knowledge, familiarity with NAIC filings and/or CMS reconciliation, and extensive experience in, and knowledge of medical and insurance industry preferred.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • CPA – Certified Public Accountant upon hire preferred

  • Self-motivated and excellent follow-through skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and heavy workloads
  • Ability to work independently or as a team
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) ; QuickBooks
