AMPS Field Service Representative (FSR)

JOB TITLE: AMPS Field Service Representative (FSR)


System Support Representatives to travel and provide classroom instruction and technical support to U.S. Army Aviation units worldwide on Aviation Mission Planning System (AMPS), a Microsoft Windows based software application that uses a relational database for managing and storing aviation mission planning data. Provide support for Foreign Military Sales and conduct testing on most current development of AMPS software.


  • Perform formal and informal instruction.
  • Provide FSR support/expertise as requested by the Aerial Communications & Mission Command Product Office .
  • Provide Help Desk support.
  • Use tools such as Power Point, Adobe Captivate, and One Note to develop training materials.


Security Clearance: Secret

  • Active Secret clearance
  • Current Passport
  • BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related discipline.
  • Over 6 or 12 Years of experience may be substituted for the BS or MS, respectively.
  • Knowledge of networking hardware and software over classified and unclassified government networks.
  • Must be medically and psychologically fit for deployment.
  • Must be willing to deploy under peacetime and armed hostility conditions to support assigned units in a theater of operations of the U.S. Armed Forces deployed outside of the United States.
  • Ability to lift 100 pounds.


  • Understanding of mission planning concepts and aircraft performance factors is required; crew experience is highly desired.
  • Understanding of airspace, airports, airways, and navigation aids.
  • Understanding of mission planning system functions and external interfaces to include setup and teardown procedures.
  • Understanding of and ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and Windows operating systems.
  • Graduate of the Aviation Mission Survivability Officer Course.
  • Technical School Certificate related to computer systems, or equivalent military training, preferred.
