VRAM Information Assurance Analyst

The Information Assurance Analyst will concentrate on monitoring, tracking and reporting.  The IA Analyst will analyze Computer Task Orders (CTO), Vulnerability Remediation Asset Manager (VRAM) databases and shipboard Patch/Scan data relative to MSC's afloat platforms.  Update N6 status dashboard(s) and update briefing slides both in support of weekly status briefings for MSC N6.  Coordinate communication and efforts across the IAVM Tracking/Reporting and Patching/Scanning Teams to identify specific areas of concerns for target ships.  This is in an office environment and no heavy lifting.

Interprets VRAM output for reporting purposes and provides status of open trouble tickets regarding the MSC Fleet ships.  Analyze fleet provided AR1, AR2, ACGV2, SMIS Mini, PPTSV3, ISNS/COMPOSE, and Program of Record (POR) shipboard scan data to determine validity prior to uploading into VRAM.  Analyze VRAM extracts to determine fleet vulnerability trends by network and aid in the development of MSC platform specific fixes or mitigations.  Analyze data in IAVM Status Reports prior to delivery to identify areas of interest to the IA Program and delineate any anomalies.  Analyze data from VRAM extracts and IAVM Status Reports to determine the effectiveness of fixes and mitigations.  Verify success of scan and patch efforts through post scan report analysis conducted during ship visits.  Analyze AR1; AR2; ACG; SMIS; ISNS/COMPOSE and POR system configurations in relation to the accepted baseline configurations and identify root cause issues for systems resistant to patching.  Track/ monitor CTOs for aging and unacceptable time frames for workflow processing.  Information provided will be used to validate and update the CTO Compliance spreadsheet hosted on the MSC portal.  Update the N6 briefing slides contained within PowerPoint on the MSC SIPR share drive weekly.

Designations/Certifications:  Active Secret clearance is required.  CASP, CAP or a CERT for IAM Level II is required.

Knowledge:  Self-starter; able to produce results without specific tasking.  Analytical mindset/natural curiosity.  Need to be able to dig down deep and not conduct surface level analysis.  Thorough understanding and competence working in the VRAM database.  Understanding of, and experience with ACAS and its associated reports.  Advanced ability working in Excel.  Knowledge handling Incidents and Incident reporting.  Experience with MS Office products, high proficiency working in Excel.

Experience:  Advanced capability to work in Excel. Experience working in VRAM. Experience with Incident handling (Incidents and Spillages).  Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Cyber Security field working with and analyzing VRAM, CTOs, Shipboard Scan data and reporting findings in an established format. Experience handling Trouble Tickets. Knowledge Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Power Point. Help Desk experience in these areas are helpful.
